About Bukittinggi
Bukittinggi, meaning "high hill" in Indonesian, is a city in West Sumatra province situated at an altitude of 930 meters. The city features the historic Fort de Kock, built by the Dutch in 1825. Known for its traditional Minangkabau culture and architecture, Bukittinggi serves as a major tourist destination. The city is also famous for its traditional textiles and the nearby active volcano, Mount Singgalang.
