About Guimaras Island
Guimaras, covering 233 square miles (605 square kilometers), is celebrated as the "Mango Capital of the Philippines." The island province is famous for producing what many consider the world's sweetest mangoes, which are exported to international markets and even served in Buckingham Palace. Beyond its agricultural fame, Guimaras features numerous pristine beaches and islets, with tourism infrastructure developing rapidly in recent years.
The island's landscape is characterized by rolling hills and coastal plains, with several marine sanctuaries protecting its rich underwater ecosystems. The San Lorenzo Wind Farm, established in 2014, provides sustainable energy to the region while becoming a tourist attraction itself. Educational institutions, including Guimaras State College, contribute to the island's development as more than just an agricultural center.
