About Vigan
Vigan stands as one of Asia's best-preserved Spanish colonial cities and holds UNESCO World Heritage status since 1999. Located in Ilocos Sur province, the city is renowned for its cobblestone streets and unique architecture blending Spanish colonial designs with Chinese and Filipino elements. The historic Calle Crisologo features ancestral houses dating back to the 18th century, while the Plaza Salcedo hosts a daily dancing fountain show. Local industries include pottery, weaving of cotton blankets (abel Iloko), and production of traditional delicacies such as bagnet and longganisa.
