About Singapore Changi Airport
Changi Airport is Singapore's primary international airport and one of the largest transportation hubs in Southeast Asia. Consistently ranked as the world's best airport, it serves more than 100 airlines connecting to approximately 400 cities worldwide. The airport complex consists of four main terminals and a satellite terminal, handling over 68 million passengers annually before the COVID-19 pandemic.
The airport's crown jewel is the Jewel Changi Airport, a nature-themed entertainment and retail complex that opened in 2019. This remarkable structure features the world's tallest indoor waterfall, the Rain Vortex, standing at 40 meters high. The complex also houses the Shiseido Forest Valley, a four-story indoor garden, and the Canopy Park, offering various recreational facilities including walking trails, mazes, and net attractions.
Each terminal is equipped with modern amenities including free WiFi, multiple lounges, sleeping areas, shower facilities, and diverse dining options. Terminal 3 features a butterfly garden with over 1,000 tropical butterflies, while Terminal 4 showcases state-of-the-art automated check-in systems and security screening.
The airport is connected to Singapore's city center via the Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, with the journey taking approximately 30 minutes to reach the central business district. Free shuttle services operate between all terminals, and a skytrain system provides inter-terminal transportation for passengers. The airport operates 24/7, with most shops and restaurants operating from early morning until late night.
