Singapore MRT Map
Description:
This map shows MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) lines ans stations in Singapore.
The Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) is Singapore's primary rapid transit system. First opened in 1987, it has become the backbone of Singapore's public transportation network, serving more than three million passengers daily. The system is operated by two main companies: SMRT Corporation and SBS Transit.
The MRT network consists of six main lines spanning approximately 129 miles (208 kilometers): the North-South Line, East-West Line, North East Line, Circle Line, Downtown Line, and Thomson-East Coast Line. The system features 122 operational stations, with both underground and elevated sections. The North East Line holds the distinction of being the world's first fully automated underground line.
The network utilizes a sophisticated automated fare collection system using contactless smart cards called EZ-Link. Trains operate from approximately 5:30 AM to midnight daily, with intervals ranging from 2 to 7 minutes during peak hours. The system is fully air-conditioned and features platform screen doors at all stations for passenger safety.
Singapore continues to expand its MRT network under the Land Transport Master Plan 2040. Several new lines and extensions are under construction or planned, including the Jurong Region Line and the Cross Island Line, which will further enhance the city-state's public transportation connectivity.
