Jewel Changi Airport, opened in April 2019, is a nature-themed entertainment and retail complex that connects Terminals 1, 2, and 3. This distinctive dome-shaped structure, designed by architect Moshe Safdie, spans 10 stories (5 above ground and 5 below) and covers 135,700 square meters of space.
The centerpiece of Jewel is the HSBC Rain Vortex, the world's tallest indoor waterfall at 40 meters high, surrounded by the Shiseido Forest Valley - a four-story garden featuring over 2,000 trees and 100,000 shrubs from around the globe. The top level houses the Canopy Park, which includes attractions such as walking nets, a mirror maze, and hedge mazes.
Jewel features over 280 retail stores and dining outlets, as well as Singapore's first YOTELAIR hotel. The complex serves multiple functions, including an airport terminal connector, featuring early check-in facilities and a baggage storage service. During evening hours, the Rain Vortex transforms into a stage for a light and sound show, making it a popular attraction for both travelers and locals.
