Terminal 4 at Singapore Changi Airport, opened in October 2017, is the newest terminal in the complex. This two-story terminal, spanning 225,000 square meters, can handle up to 16 million passengers annually. It is distinguished by its implementation of FAST (Fast and Seamless Travel) technology, making it the first terminal at Changi to offer end-to-end automated departure processes.
The terminal features a unique cultural-themed heritage zone that recreates the facade of Singapore's traditional Peranakan shophouses. Its centralized security screening area utilizes computed tomography technology, allowing passengers to keep electronic devices in their bags during screening. The terminal's immersive LED wall, spanning 70 meters wide and 5 meters high, displays dynamic visual content throughout the day.
Terminal 4 operates with 21 contact gates, including four that can accommodate wide-body aircraft. Unlike other terminals, T4 is not connected to the Skytrain system but operates a free shuttle bus service to Terminal 2. The terminal primarily serves regional carriers and budget airlines, featuring automated check-in, bag drop, immigration, and boarding processes.
