About Terminal B
Terminal B at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport serves as one of the airport's seven passenger terminals, located in the domestic terminal complex. The terminal operates as part of the world's busiest airport by passenger traffic, handling millions of travelers annually through its multiple concourses and gates.
The terminal features Concourse B, which contains 32 gates numbered B1 through B32. These gates primarily accommodate domestic flights operated by various airlines, including Southwest Airlines, which maintains a significant presence in this concourse. The concourse spans approximately 3,000 feet in length and connects to the main terminal building via the automated train system known as the Plane Train.
Terminal B offers numerous passenger amenities including restaurants, retail shops, and service facilities. Dining options range from quick-service establishments to sit-down restaurants, while retail stores provide everything from travel essentials to Georgia-themed merchandise. The terminal also houses several airline lounges and business centers.
Transportation connections include the Plane Train system, which provides rapid transit between all terminals and concourses, as well as connections to ground transportation, rental car facilities, and the MARTA rail system. The terminal maintains direct access to the airport's central atrium and baggage claim areas.
Security screening checkpoints operate throughout the terminal, utilizing both standard and TSA PreCheck lanes. The terminal underwent renovations in recent years to modernize facilities and improve passenger flow, including updates to gate areas, concession spaces, and technological infrastructure to enhance the overall travel experience.
