About Terminal A

Terminal A is one of the seven terminals at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, the world's busiest airport by passenger traffic. Located on the airport's north side, Terminal A primarily serves domestic flights and is connected to the main terminal complex via the automated Plane Train system.

The terminal houses 34 gates numbered A1 through A34, arranged in a linear configuration typical of Atlanta's concourse design. Terminal A underwent a significant renovation completed in 2012, which modernized its facilities and improved passenger amenities. The terminal spans approximately 1.2 million square feet and can accommodate both narrow-body and wide-body aircraft.

Delta Air Lines is the primary tenant of Terminal A, operating the majority of flights from this concourse. Other airlines with operations in Terminal A include American Airlines, United Airlines, and various regional carriers. The terminal handles both arriving and departing passengers, with separate levels for arrivals and departures following the airport's standard design.

Terminal A features numerous dining and retail options, including both national chains and local Atlanta-based establishments. Notable amenities include charging stations throughout the concourse, free Wi-Fi, and multiple seating areas. The terminal also houses several airline lounges, including Delta Sky Club facilities.

Transportation within the airport is facilitated by the Plane Train, which connects Terminal A to the main terminal and other concourses. The journey from the main terminal to Terminal A takes approximately 2-3 minutes. Terminal A also provides direct access to ground transportation options including MARTA rail service, taxis, and rental car facilities through the central terminal building.
