About Seattle Subway
Seattle Subway is a grassroots transit advocacy organization founded in 2011 to promote the expansion of rapid transit in Seattle and the Puget Sound region. The organization advocates for an expanded grade-separated rapid transit network, including subway, elevated, and at-grade rail lines. Seattle Subway is not a government agency and does not operate any actual transit services; rather, it functions as a citizen-led advocacy group.
The organization has promoted various transit expansion proposals and ballot measures in the Seattle region. Seattle Subway members have contributed to public discourse on Sound Transit expansion plans and have proposed alternative transit maps showing potential future rail networks. The group's advocacy efforts focus on supporting tax measures that fund transit expansion and promoting comprehensive regional transit planning. The organization operates through volunteers and accepts donations to support its advocacy activities.
