About Terminal B

Terminal B is one of three passenger terminals at Newark Liberty International Airport, located in Newark, New Jersey. The terminal serves as a hub for United Airlines and handles both domestic and international flights.

Originally opened in 1988, Terminal B underwent a major renovation and expansion project that was completed in 2022. The modernization included the construction of a new 33-gate facility designed by SOM (Skidmore, Owings & Merrill), featuring contemporary architecture with floor-to-ceiling windows and improved passenger amenities. The terminal spans approximately 1 million square feet and can accommodate up to 13.4 million passengers annually.

Terminal B is connected to the airport's AirTrain Newark system, providing direct access to New York Penn Station and other regional transportation hubs. The terminal features multiple security checkpoints, baggage claim areas, and a wide variety of dining and retail options.

United Airlines operates the majority of flights from Terminal B, including routes to major domestic destinations and international cities across Europe, Asia, and South America.
