Canton of Schwyz is located in central Switzerland, bordered by the cantons of Lucerne to the west, Zug to the northwest, Zurich to the north, Glarus to the east, Uri to the south, and Nidwalden to the southwest. The capital is Schwyz, known for its historical significance in Swiss history.

Other major towns include Küssnacht and Einsiedeln, famous for its monastery. Schwyz covers an area of about 350 square miles (907 square kilometers) and has a population of 167,403[1].
