Canton of Glarus is located in east-central Switzerland, bordered by the cantons of St. Gallen to the north and east, Schwyz to the west, and Uri to the south. The capital, Glarus, serves as the administrative and cultural center of the canton.

Other significant towns include Näfels and Netstal. The canton covers about 264 square miles (685 square kilometers) and has a population of 42,056[1]. Glarus is divided into 3 districts, with German as the primary language.
