Aargau is located in northern Switzerland, bordered by the cantons of Zurich to the east, Zug and Lucerne to the south, Bern to the southwest, Solothurn to the west, and Basel-Landschaft to the northwest. It also shares a northern border with Germany. The capital city is Aarau, known for its charming old town and vibrant cultural scene. Other significant towns include Baden, famous for its thermal baths, Brugg, and Zofingen.
Aargau covers an area of approximately 541 square miles (1,403 square kilometers) and has a population of 726,894[1]. The canton is divided into 11 districts. German is the predominant language.
