Singapore River Map
Description:
This map shows hotels, parks, trails, restrooms, restaurants, bars, cafes, shops, bridges, museums and points of interest in Singapore River Area.
The Singapore River, spanning 3.2 kilometers (2 miles), has played a crucial role in the nation's history as the main commercial lifeline since the 1800s. Today, the river is divided into three distinct quays: Boat Quay, Clarke Quay, and Robertson Quay, each offering unique attractions and experiences.
Boat Quay, located closest to Marina Bay, features restored shophouses that now serve as restaurants and bars. The area preserves much of its historic architecture, including the iconic Cavenagh Bridge, Singapore's oldest bridge still in its original form. Clarke Quay, situated upstream, has been transformed into a vibrant entertainment district with renovated warehouses housing nightclubs, restaurants, and retail shops.
Visitors can explore the river's history and scenery through river taxi services and tourist boats. Several significant landmarks line the riverbanks, including the Asian Civilisations Museum, Fullerton Hotel (formerly the General Post Office), and the famous Merlion statue at the river's mouth. The riverside promenade offers walking paths connecting all three quays, making it popular for evening strolls and photography.
