About Seattle Pacific University

Seattle Pacific University (SPU) is a private Christian university located in Seattle, Washington. The university was founded in 1891 as Seattle Seminary by Free Methodist pioneers. The institution adopted its current name in 1977. SPU is affiliated with the Free Methodist Church of North America, though students from all faith backgrounds attend the university.

The 43-acre campus is situated in the Fremont neighborhood, approximately 10 minutes north of downtown Seattle. The university enrolls approximately 4,000 students in undergraduate and graduate programs. SPU offers bachelor's degrees in over 65 undergraduate majors, along with master's and doctoral programs in various fields including business, education, psychology, nursing, and theology.

Academic structure includes the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Business, Government and Economics, School of Education, School of Health Sciences, School of Psychology, Family and Community, and School of Theology.
