About Terminal A

Terminal A at LaGuardia Airport is one of four passenger terminals serving the airport in Queens, New York. The terminal underwent a complete reconstruction as part of LaGuardia's comprehensive redevelopment project, with the new facility officially opening in June 2022.

The modern terminal spans approximately 850,000 square feet and features 35 gates across two levels. Delta Air Lines serves as the primary tenant, operating the majority of flights from Terminal A. The facility also accommodates WestJet and select other carriers.

Terminal A incorporates numerous passenger amenities, including over 50 retail and dining establishments, expanded security checkpoints, and improved baggage handling systems. The terminal design emphasizes natural light through floor-to-ceiling windows and includes outdoor terraces on the upper level. Advanced technology features include automated screening lanes and mobile device charging stations throughout the facility.

The terminal connects to the airport's transportation network via the AirTrain LaGuardia system, which links to subway and bus services. Parking facilities adjacent to Terminal A provide both short-term and long-term options for passengers. The reconstruction project aimed to modernize LaGuardia's infrastructure and improve the overall passenger experience at one of the nation's busiest airports.
