About Terminal 1
Terminal 1 at Chicago O'Hare International Airport serves as the primary hub for United Airlines and its regional partners. Originally opened in 1962 as part of O'Hare's initial terminal complex, Terminal 1 underwent major renovations and expansions throughout the 1980s and 1990s to accommodate increasing passenger traffic.
The terminal features three concourses: Concourse B, Concourse C, and the satellite Concourse C. Concourse B houses gates B1 through B22, while Concourse C contains gates C1 through C30. The satellite Concourse C, accessible via an underground pedestrian tunnel, provides additional gates C31 through C50. Terminal 1 processes approximately 20 million passengers annually.
United Airlines operates the majority of flights from Terminal 1, including domestic routes throughout the United States and international destinations across Europe, Asia, and South America. The terminal also accommodates several United Express carriers and select international airlines. Modern amenities include numerous dining options, retail stores, business lounges, and charging stations throughout all concourses.
Terminal 1 connects to the Airport Transit System, providing efficient transportation to other terminals and parking facilities.
