About Harry Reid International Airport

Harry Reid International Airport (IATA: LAS, ICAO: KLAS), formerly known as McCarran International Airport, is the primary commercial airport serving Las Vegas, Nevada, and the Las Vegas Valley. Located approximately 5 miles south of downtown Las Vegas in Paradise, Nevada, the airport was renamed in December 2021 to honor former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada.

The airport operates two parallel runways and handles over 50 million passengers annually, making it one of the busiest airports in the United States. It serves as a major hub for Southwest Airlines and a focus city for several other carriers including Allegiant Air, Frontier Airlines, and Spirit Airlines.

Harry Reid International Airport features two terminals with a total of 110 gates. Terminal 1 houses domestic flights, while Terminal 3 accommodates both domestic and international operations. The airport's unique design includes slot machines throughout the terminals, reflecting Las Vegas's gaming culture. A monorail system connects Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, with plans for expansion to accommodate growing passenger traffic.

The facility opened in 1948 and has undergone significant expansions over the decades. Major airlines operating from the airport include American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, and JetBlue Airways, providing connections to destinations across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Ground transportation options include rental cars, taxis, ride-sharing services, and public buses connecting to the Las Vegas Strip and surrounding areas.
