About Tulum
Tulum, located on the Caribbean coast of Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula in the state of Quintana Roo, is one of the best-preserved Mayan coastal cities and one of the most popular destinations in the Riviera Maya resort area. The city is famous for its archaeological sites, with well-preserved Mayan ruins set against the sea.
Perched on a cliff overlooking the ocean, Tulum's ruins include structures such as El Castillo, Temple of Frescoes, Temple of the Descending God, Maya Blue, Naaron, Temple of Destiny, Tortuga, Vacaa, Grand Cenote, Abejas, Nooch Kiin and Carvos, which provide a glimpse into the pre-Columbian history of the region.
In addition to its historical significance, Tulum attracts tourists with its pristine beaches, such as Playa Paraiso, Playa Akumal, Papaya Playa, Playa Ruinas and others.
