About Terminal 3
Terminal 3 at Cancún International Airport (CUN) is the newest and largest terminal facility, officially opened in October 2007. Located on the eastern side of the airport complex, the terminal was designed to handle the growing influx of international tourists to the Yucatán Peninsula region.
The terminal spans approximately 240,000 square meters and features 24 gates, including 16 contact gates with jet bridges and 8 remote stands. Terminal 3 primarily serves international flights, with major airlines including American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, JetBlue Airways, and various European carriers such as Lufthansa and Air France operating from this facility.
Passenger amenities include duty-free shopping areas, restaurants, currency exchange services, and rental car counters. The terminal incorporates modern architectural elements with high ceilings and natural lighting designed to reflect the tropical environment of the Caribbean coast.
Terminal 3 is connected to the other airport terminals via a shuttle bus service and handles approximately 70% of Cancún Airport's international passenger traffic, making it a crucial gateway for tourism to the Riviera Maya and broader Quintana Roo state.
