About Huahine
Huahine, often called the "Garden Island," consists of two main islands (Huahine Nui and Huahine Iti) connected by a small bridge. Located in the Society Islands, it covers a total area of 75 km2 (29 sq mi). The island is renowned for its lush forests, untamed landscape, and numerous archaeological sites.
The island hosts some of French Polynesia's best-preserved ancient marae, including Marae Manunu. Traditional life remains strong here, with a population of approximately 6,500 maintaining ancient customs and agricultural practices. The island's lagoon contains rich marine life and excellent surf spots, while its fertile soil supports vanilla plantations and tropical fruit cultivation.
