Milan Metro is a transportation system in Milan, the largest metro in Italy. It has been in operation since 1964 and consists of five lines with 119 stations. The total length of the system is 96.8 km.
Milan Metro Lines and Stations
Milan Metro Line 1 (Red Line): This was the first line to be opened and runs from Sesto 1 Maggio FS in the northeast to Rho Fiera Milano or Bisceglie in the west. It covers a total length of approximately 27 kilometers.
Line 1 Stations: Sesto I Maggio, Sesto Rondò, Sesto Marelli, Villa San Giovanni, Precotto, Gorla, Turro, Rovereto, Pasteur, Loreto, Lima, Porta Venezia, Palestro, San Babila, Duomo, Cordusio, Cairoli, Cadorna, Conciliazione, Pagano, Buonarroti, Amendola, Lotto, QT8, Lampugnano, Uruguay, Bonola, San Leonardo, Molino Dorino, Pero, Rho Fieramilano, Wagner, De Angeli, Gambara, Bande Nere, Primaticcio, Inganni, Bisceglie.
Milan Metro Line 2 (Green Line): Opened in 1969, Line 2 connects Gessate/Cologno Nord to Assago Milanofiori Forum/Piazza Abbiategrasso. It spans around 39.4 kilometers, making it the longest line in the network.
Line 2 Stations: Gessate, Cascina Antonietta, Gorgonzola, Villa Pompea, Bussero, Cassina de' Pecchi, Villa Fiorita, Cernusco sul Naviglio, Cascina Burrona, Vimodrone, Cologno Nord, Cologno Centro, Cologno Sud, Cascina Gobba, Crescenzago, Cimiano, Udine, Lambrate FS, Piola, Loreto, Caiazzo, Centrale FS, Gioia, Garibaldi FS, Moscova, Lanza, Cadorna FN, Sant'Ambrogio, Sant'Agostino, Porta Genova FS, Romolo, Famagosta, Piazza Abbiategrasso, Assago Milanofiori Nord, Assago Milanofiori Forum.
Milan Metro Line 3 (Yellow Line): This line was opened in 1990 and runs from Comasina in the north to San Donato in the south, covering about 17.1 kilometers.
Line 3 Stations: Comasina, Affori FN, Affori Centro, Dergano, Maciachini, Zara, Sondrio, Centrale FS, Repubblica, Turati, Montenapoleone, Duomo, Missori, Crocetta, Porta Romana, Lodi T.I.B.B., Brenta, Corvetto, Porto di Mare, Rogoredo FS, San Donato.
Milan Metro Line 4 (Blue Line): November 26, 2022 opened with the first section. Will have a length of 15 km and 21 stations, automated. It will cross the city from east (Linate Aeroporto) to west (San Cristoforo)
Line 4 Stations: San Cristoforo FS, Segneri, Gelsomini, Frattini, Tolstoj, Bolivar, California, Coni Zugna, Sant'Ambrogio, De Amicis, Vetra, Santa Sofia, Sforza-Policlinico, San Babila, Tricolore, Dateo, Susa, Argonne, Stazione Forlanini, Repetti, Linate Aeroporto.
Milan Metro Line 5 (Lilac Line): The most recent addition, Line 5, was opened in 2013. It is an automated, driverless line running from Bignami to San Siro Stadio, with a length of approximately 12.8 kilometers.
Line 5 Stations: Bignami, Ponale, Bicocca, Ca’ Granda, Istria, Marche, Zara, Isola, Garibaldi FS, Monumentale, Cenisio, Gerusalemme, Domodossola, Tre Torri, Portello, Lotto, Segesta, San Siro Ippodromo, San Siro Stadio.
