About Tubuai
Tubuai is the main island of the Austral Islands, covering 45 km2 (17.4 sq mi). The island is surrounded by a lagoon and barrier reef extending up to 5 km from shore. Historical significance includes being the site where the HMS Bounty mutineers first attempted to settle.
