About Serre Chevalier

Serre Chevalier is a major ski resort located in the Guisane Valley in the Hautes-Alpes department of southeastern France. The resort encompasses 13 villages spread across four main areas: Briançon, Chantemerle, Villeneuve-la-Salle, and Le Monêtier-les-Bains. It ranks among France's largest ski domains with approximately 250 kilometers of marked slopes.

The resort's elevation ranges from 1,200 to 2,800 meters, providing reliable snow conditions throughout the winter season. Serre Chevalier borders the Ecrins National Park, offering access to protected alpine terrain and diverse wildlife.

The historic town of Briançon, which forms part of the resort, features the Fortifications of Vauban, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating from the 17th century. The area also contains several medieval churches and traditional alpine architecture. Le Monêtier-les-Bains is known for its natural hot springs, which have been used for therapeutic purposes since Roman times.
