About Espace Killy

Espace Killy is a major ski area located in the Tarentaise Valley in the French Alps, Savoie department. The area encompasses two renowned ski resorts, Val d'Isère and Tignes, and was named after French alpine ski racer Jean-Claude Killy, who won three gold medals at the 1968 Winter Olympics held in nearby Grenoble.

The ski domain covers approximately 300 kilometers of marked ski runs and features over 80 ski lifts. The terrain ranges from 1,550 meters to 3,456 meters in altitude, with the highest accessible point being the Grande Motte Glacier at 3,456 meters. This elevation range provides year-round skiing opportunities on the glacier.

Espace Killy offers varied terrain suitable for all skill levels, from beginner slopes to challenging off-piste routes. The area includes several notable peaks and landmarks within the Vanoise National Park. The ski area can be accessed through interconnected lift systems linking both resorts, allowing skiers to travel freely between Val d'Isère and Tignes on a single ski pass. The region has hosted numerous international skiing competitions and served as a venue for alpine events during the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville.
