About Montpellier Tramway
Montpellier Tramway, an integral component of the city's public transportation system, provides efficient movement around Montpellier. Established in 2000, the tramway network currently consists of four lines covering approximately 60 kilometers and serving many key areas, including residential neighborhoods, commercial centers and educational institutions.
The tramway network supports sustainable transportation initiatives, reducing reliance on personal vehicles and reducing urban congestion. Each line features an original streetcar design, contributing to the visual identity of the city. Operated by Transports de l'Agglomération de Montpellier (TaM), the tramway system prioritizes accessibility and convenience, offering frequent trips that connect with other modes of public transportation.
Montpellier's tramway is an example of modern urban transportation solutions, improving accessibility and supporting the city's economic and social activity.
