About Lyon Metro

The Lyon Metro, in operation since 1978, is the most important component of public transportation in Lyon, France. The network consists of four lines, designated A to D, which in total extend for approximately 34.4 kilometres (21.4 mi) and include 42 stations.

Line A connects Perrache to Vol-en-Velin-la-Soie, crossing key neighborhoods such as Par-Dieu and Bellecourt. Line B runs from Charpenne to Gare d'Ollin, providing connections to the southern suburbs. Line C, a railroad, links Hôtel-de-Ville to Cuiret, and Line D, the longest and fully automated, stretches from Gare de Vise to Gare de Venissier.

The system promotes efficient urban mobility and is easily integrated with Lyon's streetcar and bus networks. The Lyon Metro, operated by SYTRAL Mobilités, continues to expand and modernize to meet growing passenger demand and improve service quality.
