Andorra la Vella is the capital and largest city of the Principality of Andorra. It is in the southwest of the country, in the eastern Pyrenees between France and Spain. It is also the administrative centre of the parish of the same name, one of Andorra's seven parishes.

The city sits at an elevation of about 1,023 metres above sea level, making it the highest capital city in Europe.

Andorra la Vella lies in the valley of the Gran Valira river and forms a continuous urban area with the neighbouring parish of Escaldes-Engordany. It has a population of about 24,000. The official language is Catalan, and Spanish, Portuguese and French are also widely spoken. The surrounding mountains limit the space available for building, so the city is densely built along the valley floor.

Andorra la Vella is the seat of the national government and parliament. The historic Casa de la Vall, built in 1580 as a family residence, was acquired in 1702 by the General Council, Andorra's parliament. It served as the parliament's seat for over three centuries. In 2011 the General Council moved to a new building nearby, and Casa de la Vall is still used for official and ceremonial purposes.

The city's economy is based mainly on tourism, retail trade and financial services. Avinguda Meritxell is the main commercial street and has many shops that attract visitors from Spain and France. Its religious heritage includes the Church of Sant Esteve, which dates back to the Romanesque period.

Andorra has no railway or commercial airport of its own, so Andorra la Vella is reached by road. The nearest airport is Andorra–La Seu d'Urgell Airport in Spain, and larger international airports serve the region in Barcelona and Toulouse.
