About Vancouver C-Tran

C-Tran (Clark County Public Transportation Benefit Area Authority) is the public transit agency serving Clark County, Washington, including the city of Vancouver. Established in 1981, the agency operates fixed-route bus services, paratransit services, and vanpool programs throughout the county.

The system operates approximately 32 fixed routes with a fleet of over 100 buses. C-Tran's service area covers approximately 629 square miles and serves a population of more than 500,000 residents. The agency's main transit center is located in downtown Vancouver at 7th Street.

C-Tran provides connections to Portland's TriMet system through several routes that cross the Columbia River. The agency operates express routes to Portland during peak commute hours. In recent years, C-Tran has expanded its bus rapid transit (BRT) service, known as The Vine, which began operations in January 2017 along Fourth Plain Boulevard. The Vine features limited stops, off-board fare payment, and enhanced stations.

Annual ridership exceeds 6 million passenger trips. The agency is governed by a board of directors composed of elected officials from jurisdictions within the Public Transportation Benefit Area. Funding comes from a combination of sales tax revenue, fare collection, and federal grants.
