About Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach, located in Horry County, South Carolina. With a population of about 39,000, Myrtle Beach is a major center for tourism with about 14 million visitors annually. The city occupies a 60-mile strip known as the Grand Strand, known for its expansive sandy beaches, entertainment venues, and golf courses.

Economic activity in Myrtle Beach is primarily related to tourism. The service industry, including hotels, restaurants, and retail, employs the majority of the labor force. The Myrtle Beach waterfront and promenade, completed in 2010, serves as a central tourist attraction offering ocean views, restaurants, and entertainment. In addition, the Broadway at the Beach, a large open-air shopping and entertainment complex, features a variety of attractions such as theaters, restaurants, and specialty stores.

Recreational facilities, particularly golf courses, solidify Myrtle Beach's status as an outstanding tourist destination. There are more than 80 golf courses, some designed by renowned architects, attracting amateurs and professionals alike. In addition, Myrtle Beach hosts numerous events and festivals, including the annual Myrtle Beach Bike Week and the Carolina Country Music Festival, which increase the influx of tourists.
