The Las Vegas Strip is a 4.2-mile (6.8 km) stretch of Las Vegas Boulevard South in Clark County, Nevada. Located immediately south of the Las Vegas city limits in the unincorporated towns of Paradise and Winchester, the Strip is known for its concentration of resort hotels and casinos.
The Strip features approximately 30 casino resorts, including notable properties such as the Bellagio, Caesars Palace, MGM Grand, The Venetian, and Wynn Las Vegas. Many of these establishments are among the world's largest hotels by room count. The Bellagio fountains, the Eiffel Tower replica at Paris Las Vegas, and the High Roller observation wheel are prominent landmarks.
Development of the Strip began in 1941 with the opening of the El Rancho Vegas. The area experienced significant growth during the 1990s and 2000s with the construction of themed mega-resorts.
The Las Vegas Strip generates substantial economic activity and attracts approximately 42 million visitors annually. It serves as the entertainment and gaming center of Las Vegas, hosting major conventions, sporting events, and performances. The entire resort corridor encompasses approximately 6.8 square miles.
