Taipei Metro MRT Map
Description:
This map shows Metro MRT lines and stations in Taipei.
The Taipei Metro, also known as the Taipei MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), is a rapid transit system serving the Greater Taipei metropolitan area in Taiwan. The system began operations in 1996 with the Muzha Line (now part of the Brown Line) and has since expanded to become one of the most reliable metro systems in the world, with an on-time rate of 99.9%.
The network consists of six main lines covering 131.1 kilometers and serving 131 stations. The lines are distinguished by different colors: Brown (Wenhu Line), Red (Tamsui-Xinyi Line), Green (Songshan-Xindian Line), Orange (Zhonghe-Xinlu Line), Blue (Bannan Line), and Yellow (Circular Line). The system operates from approximately 6 AM to midnight daily.
Taipei Metro utilizes both medium-capacity and high-capacity systems. The Wenhu Line operates with automated medium-capacity trains, while the other lines use high-capacity trains with drivers. The network features a contactless smart card payment system called EasyCard, which can also be used on buses and for other services throughout Taiwan.
Daily ridership averages around 2.3 million passengers, making it one of the busiest metro systems in Asia. The system is operated by the Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation (TRTC) under the supervision of the Taipei City Government's Department of Rapid Transit Systems (DORTS).
All stations are equipped with platform screen doors, bilingual signage (Chinese and English), and accessibility features for disabled passengers. The metro system is continuously expanding, with several new lines and extensions under construction or planned for the future.
