The Songpa district, located in southeastern Seoul, is one of the city's largest residential areas and a major commercial center. The district gained prominence during the 1988 Seoul Olympics, with the construction of the Olympic Park, which now serves as a major recreational and cultural space. The park features several museums, including the Seoul Olympic Museum and the SOMA Museum of Art.
The area includes significant commercial developments such as the Garak Market, one of Seoul's largest agricultural and fish markets, and the Munjeong-dong Rodeo Street, known for its fashion outlets. The district's location along the Han River provides numerous recreational opportunities, including cycling paths and riverside parks.
