Incheon International Airport (IIA) is the largest airport in South Korea and one of the busiest airports in the world. Located on Yeongjong Island in the city of Incheon, it serves as the primary hub for Korean Air, Asiana Airlines, and several low-cost carriers. The airport opened for operations on March 29, 2001, replacing the overcrowded Gimpo International Airport as South Korea's main international gateway.

The airport features two passenger terminals, three runways, and state-of-the-art facilities. Terminal 1, the larger of the two terminals, spans 496,000 square meters and can handle 44 million passengers annually. Terminal 2, opened in 2018, adds capacity for an additional 18 million passengers per year. The airport's total cargo terminal capacity is 4.5 million tons per year, making it one of the world's largest cargo facilities.

IIA has consistently ranked among the world's best airports, receiving numerous awards for its service quality, cleanliness, and efficiency. The airport has maintained its position as one of the top-rated airports globally according to Airports Council International (ACI) since 2005.

Transportation options to and from the airport include the AREX express train, which connects the airport to Seoul Station in 43 minutes, numerous bus services, and taxi services. The airport complex also features a variety of amenities including hotels, shopping centers, a golf course, spa, private sleeping rooms, an ice skating rink, and a Korean culture museum.

The facility serves more than 90 airlines and provides connections to over 180 cities worldwide. In 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, the airport handled more than 71 million passengers and processed over 2.7 million tons of cargo, solidifying its position as one of Northeast Asia's primary aviation hubs.
