Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongo Map
Description:
This map shows streets, parks, hotels, restaurants, shops, points of interest and sightseeings in Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongo (Seoul).
Located in the heart of Seoul, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno represent one of the city's most remarkable urban renewal projects. The Cheonggyecheon Stream, restored in 2005, runs for 5.8 kilometers through downtown Seoul, creating a peaceful urban oasis. The stream features numerous art installations, historic bridges, and walking paths that attract both locals and tourists.
The area encompasses several significant historical landmarks, including Gwangjang Market, one of Korea's oldest and largest traditional markets, famous for its street food and textile shops. The nearby Jongno Tower stands as a prominent architectural landmark, while the Bosingak Belfry represents an important piece of Korean heritage, where the ancient bell-ringing ceremony is still performed.
The district also includes the Jewelry City, a complex of over 1,000 jewelry stores, making it the largest jewelry market in Korea. The area's side streets are filled with traditional tea houses, Korean restaurants, and small galleries, providing a perfect blend of historic and modern Seoul.
