Cape Town International Airport (IATA: CPT, ICAO: FACT) is the primary airport serving Cape Town, South Africa. Located approximately 12 miles east of the city center, it's the second-busiest airport in South Africa after O.R. Tambo International Airport and third-busiest in Africa. The airport handled over 10.7 million passengers in 2019.

Originally established in 1954, the airport has undergone several major expansions and renovations, particularly during the preparations for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The current terminal complex features separate domestic and international terminals connected by a central terminal.

The airport operates with two runways: the primary runway 01/19 is 10,502 feet long, and the secondary runway 16/34 measures 5,581 feet. These facilities allow Cape Town International to handle aircraft up to the size of the Boeing 747 and Airbus A380.

Major airlines operating at Cape Town International include South African Airways, British Airways, Emirates, Turkish Airlines, and several domestic carriers. The airport serves as a hub for South African Airways and Comair. Direct international routes connect Cape Town with destinations in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

The facility features modern amenities including duty-free shopping, restaurants, lounges, car rental services, and parking facilities that can accommodate over 4,000 vehicles. A shuttle service connects the airport to Cape Town's city center and major hotels.
