Blaauwberg is a coastal region located in the northern part of Cape Town, known for its spectacular views of Table Mountain and Robben Island. The area encompasses several suburbs including Bloubergstrand, Table View, Parklands, and Big Bay.

The region is particularly famous for its beaches, especially Bloubergstrand Beach, which is internationally recognized as one of the world's premier kitesurfing and windsurfing destinations due to its consistent strong winds. The iconic view of Table Mountain from Bloubergstrand has become one of the most photographed scenes in South Africa.

Historically significant, Blaauwberg was the site of the 1806 Battle of Blaauwberg, which led to the British taking control of the Cape Colony from the Dutch. Today, the Battle of Blaauwberg Site is preserved as a heritage location. The area has experienced significant development in recent decades, transforming from a small fishing village into a major residential and commercial district.
