About Sveti Stefan
Sveti Stefan is both a small coastal town and an islet located in Montenegro's Budva Municipality, situated along the Adriatic coastline. The mainland portion of Sveti Stefan, often overlooked in favor of its famous islet counterpart, is a picturesque settlement that stretches along the coast and up into the surrounding hills, approximately 6 kilometers southeast of Budva.

The town itself features a combination of traditional Montenegrin architecture and modern developments. The mainland area includes several notable accommodations, including the luxurious Villa Miločer, which was once the summer residence of Queen Marija Karađorđević and is now part of the Aman Resorts complex. The villa is surrounded by more than 800 olive trees and a historic park featuring ancient cedar and pine trees.

The coastal area of Sveti Stefan is renowned for its beautiful beaches. The town's coastline is divided into several distinct sections, including the famous pink sandy beaches of Sveti Stefan and Miločer. The northern and southern beaches flanking the islet's causeway are public and stretch for about 1.6 kilometers. King's Beach and Queen's Beach are also notable locations, though some sections are reserved for hotel guests. The crystal-clear waters and the combination of sand and pebble beaches make it one of Montenegro's premier swimming destinations.
The modern town has developed into a significant tourist destination, offering various restaurants, cafes, and boutique hotels that cater to international visitors. Local establishments serve traditional Montenegrin cuisine, featuring fresh seafood and Mediterranean dishes. The area is also known for its excellent hiking opportunities, with trails leading to panoramic viewpoints overlooking the Adriatic Sea and the iconic islet. The town's infrastructure includes small markets, souvenir shops, and basic amenities for both residents and tourists. Despite its international fame and luxury tourism focus, Sveti Stefan maintains a small permanent population of approximately 400 residents, with numbers significantly increasing during the peak summer season.
