Description:
This map shows tourist information centers, hotels, highlights, restaurants, shopping streets, markets, museums, theatres, points of interest, tourist attractions and sightseeings in Hue.
Hue, Vietnam's imperial capital from 1802 to 1945, embodies the nation's royal heritage. The city's centerpiece, the massive Imperial City, was constructed in 1804 under Emperor Gia Long's supervision. This UNESCO World Heritage site encompasses the Purple Forbidden City, where only the emperor, his concubines, and closest servants were allowed entry. The serene Perfume River flows through the city, alongside which lie seven elaborate royal tomb complexes. Hue's cultural significance extends to its cuisine, with over 1,700 traditional dishes, many originally created for the Nguyen dynasty royal court. The city's complex of royal monuments includes hundreds of temples, pagodas, and architectural works, making it one of Vietnam's most important historical and cultural centers.
